Operating with Purposeful Efficiency

It’s about our vision for reshaping the landscaping industry. By eliminating the conflict between “what’s best for customers” and “what’s best for the environment,” we want to change the way people think about sustainability.

It begins with functional designs that make the land work for you—thoughtfully tailored to reflect your goals, priorities, and vision. We support property owners and managers through ongoing education, helping them make informed decisions that lead to long-term success.

Smarter Strategies for Sustainable Results

  • Use of electric and propane mowers

  • Use of battery powered handheld equipment

  • Trailers equipped with solar panels

  • Monitoring irrigation systems for reduction in water use

  • Installing native plants and perennials when possible

  • Composting landscape waste

  • Recycling plastic plant containers

  • Use deicing materials only as necessary – applying them at the right time and right amounts to provide safer environments

  • Implementing liquid deicers both proactive pre-treating and during winter events

  • Leave grass clippings in place to reduce waste

  • Change mowing patterns to reduce soil compaction

  • Use only locally sourced mulch to reduce transportation emissions and cost

  • Integrated pest management using environmentally based tools such as predator insects

  • Paperless time keeping system

  • GPS equipped fleet so we can create the most efficient routes which reserves fuel

SEBERT CORPORATE OFFICE – BARTLETT, IL

Green from the Ground Up

Our 30,000-square-foot corporate office and fleet management center reflect our deep commitment to sustainability, earning LEED® Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This distinction recognizes our focus on environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, and providing a healthy, productive workspace for our team.

Designed to make the most of natural resources, our headquarters uses the same amount of electricity and natural gas as our previous building—despite being four times larger. Sustainable elements such as low-VOC paint, bamboo and concrete flooring, and low-flow plumbing promote long-term environmental health.

Outside, we’ve used indigenous, low-maintenance plantings that thrive naturally with minimal water or care, creating a beautiful and sustainable landscape. Motion-sensing, self-adjusting lighting and architectural sunshades help regulate indoor temperatures, and our use of low-emission equipment improves air quality both inside and out. From the ground up, we’ve designed our facility to use the land wisely and operate with sustainability in mind.
